Terms and Conditions
Last updated: April 2026
These terms govern your use of the Bright Sparks of York website (brightsparks-york.com). Using the site means you accept these terms. If you don't accept them, please don't use the site.
These terms cover the website only. Electrical work I carry out is governed by a separate written quote or estimate, which sets out the scope, price, and terms for the job itself.

Information on the site
The guides, blog posts, and explainers on this site are general information based on my experience as an NICEIC Approved electrical contractor. They aren't a substitute for a site-specific assessment by a qualified electrician.
I keep the content as accurate and up to date as I can, but I can't guarantee everything stays current as standards and regulations change. If you're in any doubt, get a qualified electrician to look at your specific situation.
Intellectual property
All text, images, logos, and design on this site are owned by Bright Sparks of York Ltd or used with permission. You're welcome to share links to the site and quote short passages with credit, but please don't copy substantial sections, reuse images, or pass off the content as your own.
Links to other sites
The site links to other websites where useful, including official sources like the NICEIC, the IET, the ICO, and the HSE. I have no control over the content of those sites and don't take responsibility for their accuracy or availability.
Limitation of liability
I make no warranties about the site being error-free, uninterrupted, or free from viruses, and I'm not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of the site, except where the law doesn't allow me to limit that liability (for example, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).
For electrical work I carry out, separate terms apply via your written quote or estimate, and my liability for that work is set out there and underpinned by my public liability insurance.
Changes to these terms
I may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top tells you when. Your continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from your use of the site is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
